The word Quiddity is defined as the inherent nature or essence of someone or something. It is the principals that help us change the world, and truly influence the lives of others. It is the meaning beyond a profit or paycheck. If our culture was the way we do things, then quiddity would be why we do them.
As a team, our goals and ambitions are greater than average companies. The expectations for customer satisfaction are set at a higher standard. If our mentality would be to “just get the job done,” this higher standard would lead to frustration and fear. The frustration is caused by change that must take place in order to attain a different result. The fear comes from the unknown, or being challenged down a path we have never been down. However, by staying focused on the quiddity, these emotions become apart of our personal growth as we continue……..
Creating a Place Where Life Gets Better.
While most look at change as the physical action of a situation, they often don’t consider the meaning behind it. If we instead focus on the quiddity (the why), change takes the face of a different light. Being focused on the why creates an entirely new perception that goes from frustration to excitement. The excitement comes from the impact this change will have on the world and our future. If we look at our objectives (sell, delivery, serve, function, etc) and our results are not what we hope for, change must take place.
So as individuals what change is needed in our lives to attain the result we desire? For me this week it has been consistency toward our process disciplines everyday, while letting the lower priorities pass.
What is it for you?
