What do you enjoy learning? It’s a simple question but one that we often neglect to ask ourselves. This culture is made up of people who are constantly learning. Learning to improve knowledge, process, product, skill and experience. Why? Because the purpose is to Create A Place Where Life Gets Better and it can not get better without improvement. By understanding the objective learning becomes a habit not a headache.
Learning to walk was one of the first significant challenges we faced, that would one day have a positive impact on the rest of our lives. The first word we learned was the beginning of a life spent communicating and growing with others. When we first learned to drive, we expanded the scope of our impact, becoming able to do things faster and produce results in more places than ever before. We had to learn each of these things, and their impact has shaped the rest of our lives.
You can look back on these accomplishments today, and they seem so easy. However, there was a time when they seemed monumental or even impossible. What made you want to learn them? What made you realize you could?
We all know that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, but he wasn’t born with the understanding of how to create the impossible. He learned how to do it. And he didn’t have a special power that gave him the desire to learn where others were complacent. He was just a person, no different than you and I. He had his failures and discouragements, but he derived his passion and energy from his own goal to Create A Place Where Life Gets Better. He knew that electric light would improve peoples’ lives, and he found joy in the effort due to the purpose behind it.
I wake up in the morning excited to learn something new because I know that as I learn, I am taking leaps and bounds towards the future. What makes you excited to learn? Although it might seem impossible today, imagine the future it will open.
