With the amount of change happening in the world today, the ability to learn from and embrace challenges has become a powerful skill in the workforce.
The world is shifting into an entirely new era–the only certainty we have today is change. This shift will be talked about for generations, and the COVID pandemic will likely be the landmark. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be part of this iconic time. It’s not easy, but change never is.
Some will decide to hang on to the past and feel victimized by their environment. Their decision not to change will lead to a decline in their quality of life. This is because they will be left behind. Others will surf this new wave with a learning mindset and experience real personal growth. It is paramount today that we own our contribution to the circumstances we face. Without “owning it” we will not find meaning in this journey. This means looking internally for solutions and not feeling victimized by external forces.
Every single person today feels this pressure of change, and there’s no one to blame. No politician, no past decisions, no boss, no co-worker, no parent. This is organic change driven by life cycles, demographic shifts, and technology.
In today’s environment a learning culture is a serious competitive advantage. Those who are passionate about improvement and bringing value to the fast-changing world will thrive. While those who are content with mediocrity will cease to exist. By running from change, they will waste the next years of their lives chasing a comfort zone that no longer exists.
There is nothing more unequal than the equal treatment of unequals.
Have an awesome week.
