Many businesses see their brand as being driven by the marketing department through messaging, imaging, and alignment toward certain words. And although these things matter, they don’t determine who we are.
If you consider the purpose of Elliott Homes, it is to “Create A Place Where Life Gets Better.” How well we deliver on this purpose determines our brand. We take actions that are in line with our brand promises, but the strength of our brand comes from the people impacted by those actions.
Taking actions aligned with our purpose is up to our team, up to you. The more impact we have on the world through our delivery of daily processes, the stronger our brand will be.
The foundation for this delivery is our values. If our decisions fit within the walls of these values, we become exponentially stronger. 5 questions we must always ask ourselves are……..
Is your next action;
1. Creating authentic human connection?
2. Listening to learn in order to always improve and grow?
3. Resolving the situation permanently instead of responding reactively to a problem?
4. Using innovation for a purpose to create positive change?
5. Delivering on what we promised?
Most importantly: Is the action creating a place where life gets better?
Our values can be found on the banner at the top of this page if needed in the future.
The impact of a team is not the power of its individuals. The impact comes from accountability. When we work together to attain a result that is above ourselves, we leverage each other exponentially. The result is significance and true purpose.
Hierarchy, job titles, and chain of command are completely irrelevant to accountability. Each of us has a role to play. That role is measured by Key Performance Indicators that all point to our values and purpose. If one of those KPIs is underperforming, it reduces our ability to deliver, reduces our brand strength, and reduces our purpose both as a team and individuals. One of us can not truly be purposeful without the others. Why? Because we are underperforming on a promise to the world, and purpose always comes from improving it.
There is one role, however, that we all have in common. As a member of this team, we will not allow each other to fail. No matter what our title or position, we support each other in attaining our goals, and in doing so, we learn, grow, and prosper.
So, align to what is, in essence, the meaning of life………
Live a life of meaning.
